Alberta Ballet School offers a Summer Intensive designed to enhance your technique and artistry under the guidance of our esteemed faculty. Over the course of this program, dance students will train 30 hours a week in ballet, pointe, contemporary, and more, with mentorship from Alberta Ballet School's esteemed faculty.
Our Summer Intensive isn’t just about training; it’s about connection. You’ll refine your technique and deepen your artistry alongside peers from across Canada and around the world.
This program also serves as a final audition for those aiming to join our full-year program in September.

Why Summer Intensive?
Summer Intensive is a three-week program of full-day intensive training taught by Alberta Ballet School faculty. The program includes Ballet, Pointe Work, Pas de Deux (for select levels), Repertoire, Variations, Contemporary, Character Dance and Body Conditioning.
Designed to strengthen and develop your abilities as a dancer, this is an opportunity to explore a short-term commitment to intensive professional ballet training and connect with dance students from across Canada!
Alberta Ballet School operates its year-round residence program at the Mount Royal University campus. Our dedicated full-time team provides exceptional care and support for our Summer Intensive students, ensuring a nurturing environment throughout the program.
- Ballet students in grades 5-8: register in the Junior Student Auditions.
- Ballet students in grades 9-12: register in the Senior Student Auditions.

Summer Intensive Tuition
Coming to Summer Intensive from Outside of Calgary?
Alberta Ballet School operates its year-round residence program at the Mount Royal University campus. Our dedicated full-time team provides exceptional care and support for our Summer Intensive students, ensuring a nurturing environment throughout the program.
Residence life during Summer Intensive is designed to provide students the opportunity to be social with other participants, experience the city of Calgary in addition to having a fun and memorable out-of-town experience. All activities are preplanned and communicated prior to the start of the program. All activities will be indicated on an activity calendar provided closer to the start of Summer Intensive.
