The Alberta Ballet Trainee Program is a bridge between a dancer's final years of training and their professional dance career.
This tuition-free program accepts up to 10 students per year. Placement in the Alberta Ballet Trainee program is secured through either Alberta Ballet School auditions, Alberta Ballet Company auditions, or through personal invitations by Aram Manukyan (Director of Alberta Ballet Trainee Program), Ashley McNeil (Director of Alberta Ballet School), or Francesco Ventriglia (Artistic Director of Alberta Ballet).
Trainees work with the Alberta Ballet Company weekly, providing them with valuable professional development and performance opportunities. They take part in company classes, and rehearse and perform as part of Alberta Ballet’s corps de ballet in the company’s mainstage season (performed in Alberta two major cities: Calgary and Edmonton).
Alberta Ballet Trainees have gone on to dance with the Alberta Ballet Company and many other companies around the world.
