Bringing the Alberta Ballet School experience to communities throughout the province.
At Alberta Ballet School, we are committed to reaching across Alberta to making exceptional dance training accessible to aspiring dancers wherever they live in the province. Through innovative programs and partnerships, we break down barriers so more students can experience the transformative power of dance.
From our Affiliates Program to our Provincial Masterclasses, these programs hope to share the power of dance with people in areas beyond Calgary. We aim to foster talent, confidence, and a lifelong love of dance while enriching communities across the province.
Northern and Southern Affiliates Program
The Affiliates Program is open to experienced dance students ages 9–17 who have a passion for dance and strive to deepen their practice of classical ballet.
This program is for dance students across Alberta, ages 9-17, who:
★ have a minimum of 1-2 years of ballet training
★ are eager to commit additional studio time to advance their ballet technique
★ are able to commit one Sunday per month in Calgary or Edmonton for intensive training
The goal of the program is to connect ballet students who live outside of Calgary and Edmonton to the experience of Alberta Ballet School's curriculum. Students train in Calgary or in Edmonton at the Alberta Ballet Studios for intensive full-day programs with the Alberta Ballet School faculty.
This unique training regime gives dance students outside of these major centres supports students who want to deepen their training pursuits by engaging the Alberta Ballet School curriculum in addition to their other weekly dance activities. The program is entering its fourth year in Calgary and its second year in Edmonton.

Alberta Ballet School Masterclasses
We’re travelling across the province to meet dance students in their home communities. If you’re an experienced dance student, we invite you to our free classes.
This sampling of our Professional Division curriculum will sharpen your ballet technique, enhance your artistry, and allow you to explore new artistic expressions! For interested students, this class can also double as an audition opportunity for our 2025 Summer Intensive - a three-week course hosting ballet students from across Canada and around the world.
