Prioritizing physical and mental health.

Students’ physical and mental health is of the utmost importance in meeting the demands of professional training.

Alberta Ballet School provides on-site physiotherapy services in addition to access to other support services such as nutritional and sport psychological care. Students, wellness staff, and faculty work in tandem to ensure diagnosis, prognosis, recovery requirements and estimated timeline for return are clearly understood and respected.

Alberta Ballet School remains at the forefront of Dance Science research.

In addition to the services available, the Alberta Ballet School partners with the University of Calgary to participate in the Dance Science research of Dr. Sarah Kenny.

With the goal of building a stronger foundation for improved ballet performance, strategies such as physiotherapy and individualized conditioning are implemented for stronger and healthier outcomes for students. Our school is proud to be at the forefront of this research, as this partnership was only one of five such collaborations in the world when Dr. Kenny’s study began in 2015.
