Our School
Alberta Ballet School is a comprehensive training institution for aspiring young dancers looking for a career in professional dance. Hosting more than 100 students from all corners of the globe, Alberta Ballet School graduates go on to secure professional dance jobs at notable companies all over the world. Alberta Ballet School is also the feeder training program for Alberta Ballet Company.
A student’s life at Alberta Ballet School is a harmonious balance of academic and artistic training with their school day equally divided between academic and artistic training. In addition to daily course work, students plan and participate in local and school events to foster school spirit, hone leadership skills and build lasting friendships to prepare them for a fulfilling and successful life after graduation.
Alberta Ballet School’s internationally recognized training program and facility attracts celebrated teachers who nurture potential to develop students’ technique and artistry to the highest levels. The program includes students in Grades 7-12, a Post-Graduate Program and the Alberta Ballet Trainee Program.
More Than Exceptional Training
We are a division of Alberta Ballet. Alberta Ballet School is the official training arm of Alberta Ballet, and students are featured in mainstage productions, including corps de ballet roles, giving them valuable professional development experience to launch dance careers.
Alberta Ballet School prioritizes students’ physical and mental well-being. Our students benefit from our on-site physiotherapy clinic as well as a body conditioning and mindfulness program. Students also participate in mental health and wellness programming with a sports psychologist.
Our program includes on-site academics. As a private school accredited by Alberta Education, we are proud of our strong academic outcomes, where Alberta Ballet School is consistently a top performer on Alberta Education’s standardized tests.
